With the turn of a new year comes the turn of a mandatory new year work-out regime; Researched fitness programs are put into place, healthier meals are recorded and all beauty products are upgraded. 2017 is a particularly important year for me to take control of my fitness and general well-being routine. I’ve started the 6 month countdown to my wedding day and I’m determined to feel the best I can in the dress of my dreams! There is no denying the effect chic activewear can have on ones motivation, it can instill a positive pre-work out state-of-mind. I’m all for championing new brands, I just think that there is more fun to be had then sticking to a Nike or Adidas work-out wardrobe, and so to get you through the gym doors this January, I’ve put together 5 high-quality, stylish gym-bound brands that will get you to the gym looking stylish and ready.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but my family tend to stay pyjama bound until around 12pm on Christmas Day, embracing the luxury of not having to go anywhere or do anything (other than popping on a brew and making our traditional christmas breakfast menu of sausage sandwiches caked it ketchup). Last year, when my beloved asked me to marry him underneath our twinkling tree lights, I was wearing a tres unglamorous combination of holey grey sweatpants, an over-sized (and over-worn) blue bobbled jumper and a pair of thick Santa-emblazoned socks; balanced with a face free of make-up. Sadly I am not exaggerating. It wasn’t the stylish ensemble I thought I’d be wearing when James proposed! Funnily enough, I am no longer a fan of mix-matched christmas day lounge wear, and so in fear of another pyjama disaster, I’ve put together an edit of my favourite PJ’s ahead of the big lounge day. Which will be on your wish list?
I don’t know about the rest of you, but it’s got to that time of year when I start to panic about pre-christmas savings and the looming January Tax payment! So, in an attempt to stay stylishly cheery, I wanted to derive a low-cost winter wardrobe plan; how to re-vamp your winter closet for under £10. Accessories can make or break an outfit, yet they are one of the easiest ways to update a look. Be it bold hosiery or mix-n-match brooches, scroll on to get my edit on shopping this seasons accessories – pre-christmas budget.
I’ve noticed a change in my approach towards fast-fashion over the last couple of years, I tend to err on the side of caution these days. I don’t know whether this feeling was brought to the surface because of a deeper understanding of the industry, switching to a vegetarian diet, or (dare I say it) come with age! It’s most likely an amalgamation of all three, ultimately I have found myself more aware when it comes to purchasing styles for my own wardrobe and those of my clients. I want to know the journey of my clothes, where they’re come from, what they’re made of, whether they’ve had an in-humane impact on animal welfare or human rights.
